First and foremost, "MALAM" is Marie, a talented fashion designer and pattern maker who creates original, poetic clothing and fashion accessories. Every piece is unique and made from vintage, repurposed, or new and customized materials.
One look at a photograph of her workshop, a sort of Aladdin's cave, is enough to see that a "MALAM" garment is not quite like anything else...

Personally, I'm lucky enough to own several MALAM pieces. And believe me, I treasure every one of them. I chose every detail: the design, fabric, lace, buttons and so on. To tell you the truth, one of these dresses has become too small for me (well, fancy that??? lol...), but I wouldn't part with it for anything in the world...

One little clarification... Yes, on the "MALAM" website the clothes are modelled by very slim young women. But designs are made up to XL (French size 48 and above) and, most importantly, every design can be custom-made.
Marie was also kind and generous enough to give me some advice about the styles most likely to flatter us curvier women!
In no particular order, there is the "Caméléon" wrap, which can be worn in several different ways, the "Camille" coat, the "Jude", "Margaux" and "Sylvie" dresses... And those are only a few suggestions. There are also all the skirts, tops and boleros. In short, as you've probably gathered, the choice is endless!
